Congratulations to Susan Krashinsky and Michael Stortch who were engaged last week end atop Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Sue called me almost right away to give me the news (Praise the Christ for Skype!) and tell me the story. I asked if Sue if she was certain she wanted to commit the rest of her life to a man who was so dull and boring as to propose in a temple in South East Asia. "I know what you mean," she replied. "I mean, he got down on one knee and I just sighed and scoffed: 'God, Michael, you're so cliché..."

SIN

This is a message I encountered
on a cardboard sign
in Belfast yesterday.
The gentlemen carrying the signs
were making a strong statement indeed,
wearing their best suit jackets,
had every hair in place,
on their he
ad and face,
and wore no trousers.

At all.

We, the by-standers,
found ourselves confused
and also amused.
