I am home in my humble Closkelt abode after a delightful jaunt around North America for 7 hasty weeks.

I wanted to give everyone an idea of where I live, so I'll start with these:

This is my house.

And this is my view. Like, from my bedroom window.

Thank you to those of you who showed your gorgeous faces at our gig down on the Danforth, August 20th... We were quite pleased with the sound we produced (*gulp* -only 3 rehearsals!!!), all thanks to Kie the sound guy and a great crowd. If you're wondering what the people had to say about us, here are some of the things I heard:

"Man, you guys were busting out the old favourites!"
And
"I was really pissed off for a second 'cause I thought you were totally ripping off Sarah Harmer. Then I realized it was a cover, so it was okay."
And
"You sounded great. My band's going up in a little bit and we're really loud. Maybe we could sit down and have a pint later?"

Imagine what the press would've said! Next time, maybe... Next time.

So for those of you who weren't there, we missed you, whether it was distance or circumstance that kept you away. And it's especially to you that I'd like to introduce...

For those of you who were unable to attend Johanna's wedding, here are a few quick snapshots.
Here's the wedding party, all crisp and clean...

Gorgeous girls by the name of Nicole (the bridesmaid) and Johanna (the beautiful bride).

The Bridegroom (pink rose -doesn't he remind you of superman?) and his groomsmen.

The sandles were well hidden till the wedding party had to dance.

Matt and Jo danced to "Forever" by Ben Harper. Good choice guys.

You're in it for the long haul!

Traveling. Wandering. Going. Progressing.

I've just returned to Toronto from a 2 week stint in Colorado. I was visiting some close friends, one getting married, others trying to figure out if the night shift is going to work out for them, while others are sitting a little stir-crazy, desperately trying to work out the logistics of moving to China. Honestly. These are real people.

This is Michelle. Also known as "Roomie". We used to live together in Toronto, before we both decided to be cultrual renegades with Youth With A Mission. Michelle is based in Denver and is an excellent reason to make a visit to the United States. You know. Of America.

Here's the thing about the Greater Denver Area. It's all up and down the foot of the Rockies, so you can't really get away from the auto-gorgeous backdrop. Everywhere you go is pretty. Even if it's Walmart or the 7-11 in some small town where people look at you funny if you're a girl who's shaved her head recently... Breathtaking and natural visual majesty is only just yonder.

(I'm not the girl who shaved her head, by the way. I was making an Ani DiFranco reference. And her hair has since grown back and have been formed into some of the coolest dreads found on the head of a woman. Ani is well received in Boulder, Colorado.)
